What do you folks think about this new carbon fiber hood that was just released.

I'm still curious about a few things regarding build and layup type..

You would have to cover that thing in sponsor decals to make it schweet

Wonder what would happen in a crash?

Anyone know the weight of it? I think it looks good if it saved a bunch of weight that’d be another plus.

The stock hood is probably like 20 pounds. This thing is probably around 3. Just guessing, I have no actual specs.

If I were to venture a guess I’d say the stock is at least 2-3 times that weight but I really have no idea. I tried to search on TW and google and couldn’t find anything on the carbon hood or OEM

I'm just curious if the construction 100% carbon fiber and not 99% fiberglass and 1% carbon. I haven't seen any other photos of the underside if its braced to have a rigid structure like oem.

Makes that truck look like a AutoZone / Walmart accessory aisle queen :puke:. Carbon fiber hood on a truck, why? Defeats the whole I pretend to off road capability thing people are going for these days.

Uhhhh... stock hood is definitely not 60lbs. I could lift it with 2 fingers.

So carbon fiber hood to save weight for a lifted and armored truck? That's like ordering 6 meals from McDonald's and then a water because you're on a 'diet'

Maybe from one end of it but I would love to see you try and hold it with 2 fingers while detached lol.

Somewhere around 40 is probably right.

Lol that’s an awesome analogy. Saving weight on something cosmetic seems like a decent idea to me if it’s good quality though.
