After installing the Seibon hood a few weeks back, I finally had time to install the pins:

Serious question: what’s to keep someone with a dollar store socket set, and thumbs, from swiping your million dollar hood while your in the grocery store..?

The OEM hood latch is still there. Popping it open will trip the vehicle alarm.

Thieves are more likely to steal your Prinsu rack or ditch lights

Damn! That looks good! Love the location of them. Wanted mine in the same spot, but the Aerocatches are just so beefy.

Thanks. These pins were pricey, but they are solid and allowed me to mount them closest to the edge of the hood where I experienced the most airflow.

    Thanks!

Thinking about swapping out the hood stay rod with gas struts. Any recommendations on which ones to get? I'm concerned that the ones for the stock metal hood are too strong of a lift. Also concerned about whether or not the fiberglass underside would be strong enough to bolt the new struts to.

Both very valid concerns. @SpikerEng or @RedlineTuning might be able to help.

We have lower force gas springs available for Carbon fiber hoods. Just select the Carbon Hood option at checkout. We also have carbon fiber sleeves that will cover the gas springs and match your hood available.
