    I dig it. That would look awesome on my black truck! I’ll save my full judgement until I know how much it would cost. Not saying I would buy one, but definitely a great way to offset some of the weight added by armor, and racks. It doesn’t have to be a race car to have benefits of weight savings.

    Two big issues with CF hoods;

    -They usually need hold down pins installed in both front corners to avoid hood lift when driving at highway speeds
    -Unlike an OEM steel hood, a crumple zone is not engineered into a CF hood

    I don't know about the CF stuff but I do love that color choice. I think my Silver on Gunmetal metallic will look epic. And do the same color wrap for the roof. The most expensive part of getting a hood scoop is the paint. Especially trying to paint match a Silversky metallic correctly. Getting all kinds of ideas.

    For example, you drove your Taco in the woods, in the middle of nowhere, and all of a sudden, a giant piece of tree branch fell on your hood, you're in big trouble, or are you? What you need is a piece of Mopani wood and a penknife. You whittle away at this for some times until you arrived with this "Seibon Hood," which I made earlier. Simply pop them on and you're safe.

    My buddy was looking at one for his Evo 9, and all the ones he found were heavier than the OEM hood. Keep the CF, most of it is a ripoff unless you get it dry.

    My guess is like what you said, almost entirely fiberglass and 1 sheet of CF on top and bottom to make it look legit. True CF parts cost an arm and a leg.

    Anyone looking at buying this for weight savings is going about it all wrong. It’s a damn truck not a drag car. It’s purely cosmetic. End of conversation. Anyone looking to save weight doesn’t put steel armor, huge tires, and four wheel drive on the vehicle. Why does every thread end up being a war about whether a mod is practical or not. People buy these trucks solely for modding and there is no right or wrong way to do that. Just cause you don’t see a point in a mod doesn’t give you a right to convince someone it’s wrong (unless it is unsafe). Last time I checked nobody else is paying for my truck.

    I think the cf hood is a great option for those looking for the scoop and also a contrast of color for their truck. I’m a sucker for anything white and black themed so I for one like it.

    Ok I’m done lol

    If the concern is really weight savings and fuel mileage, then remove the non functional hood scoop. :boink:
