I decided to get a $19.99 cargo bar here.

I was expecting something cheap but the bar that showed up is nice. You pull it out to just about the width of the bed then turn one end 'til it's just a bit longer and shove it against the inner bed wall. It holds quite well.

    Attached are a few pics.

I got a similar bar from Northern Tool for about the same price. Sure does the trick. Stored extended side to side behind the seat in my RC.

These bars are great! I got mine at Wallymart for $14 very similar to the JC Whitney bar, pretty solid won't move for nothing as long as you tighten it.
I want to attach lights and use is as a light bar and/or attach the Hi-Lift.

I got one of those bars at discounted price in a local Academy's for about $15.00 with tax included, and on a trip to San Antonio in another Academy, I found the "arms" for this cargo bar, and you can even get a more secured cargo with them, like a 20Gal gas can or anything else that can required a tight secured space, these arms were also drastically discounted and I pay around $5.00 for two of them.
