Looking to drop my carrier bearing, and it forces me to recall the front diff drop issue. I've heard plenty of diff drop horror stories from offroading, does anyone have any carrier drop horror stories or is it a safe bet that it isn't a damage multiplier mod?

It's not bad but it doesn't always help with the vibes that some get after lift. Ideally you want you output shaft and pinion shaft angles to be parallel. The c.b drop might work or it might not

I have a cb drop kit installed, 1/4inch I think with 3inches up front and 3.5 in the rear on kings and no axle shims. It helped with the vibes at takeoff but they're ultimately still there.

I think the ultimate solution tends to be a one-piece driveshaft if you really need to rid of the vibes. On the flip-side. I don't think I've ever heard of an issue with a carrier bearing drop.

True, i cant recall any horror stories either. Maybe cause its a sealed bearing?
