A friend worked for Chrysler R&D and had one of these to "play with" for a few weeks. Cool truck for the times.
He routinely had various Mopar and Dodge/Mitsubishi test mules to drive. Most had only 1 seat and lots of black boxes inside. Could never see any of the engines.

The Germans were pretty crafty at making things for them to use in everyday life. Some of those Corgi Toy cars are worth a pretty good amount of $$$$$$. Have you ever checked to see how much it's worth?

Glad you didn't say 2.2L gas. Only thing the Z22 motors were good for, were donor parts for L-series hybrid builds.

This is my wife's daily driver, a Suzuki X90. It's 19 years old, as reliable as a hammer and, about as sophisticated as a hammer. She loves it. I like it because it just doesn't' break down. The ugly is only skin deep because other than the sheet metal it is a Suzuki Sidekick/Chevy Tracker. Getting parts has been no problem.

My dad had one of these. Five passenger my ass...at least not adults. You had to open the hatch with a screwdriver and start it with starting fluid. The head finally cracked in all of the cylinders from the excessive use of the starting fluid.

I had a volvo 740 wagon in college. It was a manual but the overdrive was a button you pushed on the top of the shifter knob. You'd still have to push the clutch in, or at least I always did.

It was a pretty cool car for college. Could seat seven and would scoot once the turbo spooled up.

my car prior to my tacoma was a 1992 Volvo 740 turbo wagon.

    IMG_1282-X4[1].jpg

funny thing... that wagon had a 1200 lb payload. my tacoma has a 1200 lb payload. that wagon had 70 cu ft of cargo with the back seats folded up, the tacoma doesn't have much more than that. the tacoma /does/ have the access cab space, which is very handy, also the tacoma can tow 6500 lbs, while the Volvo was only rated to tow 3500 lbs. and of course, the Tacoma is a 4x4, while the Volvo was RWD.
