Yeah i still have it and love it. i would for sure wait for the next Model to come out as the surrounding will be a better fit.

like anyone else will say the one downside is the loss of sat radio based on the headunit. I use my phones app for sat radio keeping the subscription active but because the android unit doesn’t have the license to have sat radio built in. You’re left with just phone apps to play it.

Hmmm. Very interested in this. Almost seems too good to be true? How do these go for so little when most comparable units I’ve seen go for almost $1k

Idk man, why do people put their log on Chinese made products and double the price?

let me know I’ll buy one and mark it up and resell it to you haha.

this is just my review on a product i couldn’t get exact info about prior to ordering.

me personally i love it. But there’s a new mode that came out i would get over this. Their T10 is a better fit and better operating system.

def interesting to see this side by side on the Dasaita but not the older px5. When I got my Dasaita last year (i think) it was a PX6 which is hands down faster than the Px5 and has all the items noted on this HU. I did notice they use a different OS which is great. They all seem to be coming from the same place but each company does their own UI to some extent.

Glad to hear its working out well. Regardless of brand, the Android HU has been a pretty great ad. Whevrer my current one craps out may take a look at this or a newer version.

It's mostly been solid. once and while normal android issues but its been great. I got mine before android 10 was available and added the Hal9 mod to it. I mostly use carplay with it but its been solid. Beside A10 it has all of the same as this unit and had no issues connecting anything. For 2nd gen likely a better option as this one they appear to only have 3rd gens listed. I checked it out after this post. I could add it to mine but the mount would not work. For yours Either one works But to back up he OP get A10 on it which seems like they all have now. The OS on all of them is essentially the same and the same chips There are a few different lower-end ones with less ram and less processing but if you get the octa core 64 gig blah blah I would bet they all come from the same factory in the end.

My only main complaint with any of the Android HU is the sound quality. It has its nice parts but overall I plan to add an external DSP and Amp at some point.

    Hello!

I've installed one of these in my 2021 Tacoma. I had to select the 2020 model year when ordering, but it mostly works with my truck anyway.
Here's some things from my experience so far.

When installing, the black connector that went into the OEM head unit is not used. This doesn't appear to affect anything, despite all the wires it has. Aside from that one, there's pretty much only one place any given connector can go.
The "USB 3.0 kit" is absolutely pointless, don't get it. The head unit just doesn't have the requisite number of pins for that.
The black boxy connector with a USB port on it is not used.
The "key1" and "key2" wires are unnecessary. The unit works with steering wheel controls out of the box.
Drilling the OEM brackets isn't necessary, but grinding down the dimples is easy enough, so you might as well do it. The brackets the head unit comes with can be disregarded.
I used this GPS retention adapter. It takes the time to get a fix from 4-15 minutes down to less than a minute. Definitely worth it.
Bluetooth audio quality is absolutely terrible. Just do yourself a favor and stick your media on a flash drive. Playing directly from that it actually doesn't sound much different from the stock head unit, but then again I did have a higher trim level to begin with.
Despite being "basically an android tablet" the head unit can only be paired with things. You can't pair things to it. So forget about headphones, bluetooth OBDII adapters, or bluetooth LED controllers.
VLC probably requires the least amount of touching things out of anything I tried for both video and audio, unless you've got all your files tagged properly.

The "control settings" app appears to offer some vehicle settings the OEM unit controlled. However, none of the items within this menu respond. I thought this was because "break" [sic] wire wasn't connected to anything, but it didn't seem to make a difference if I hooked it up to ground (pictured-the green wire goes to a bolt) or to a 12 volt source (a power drill battery).
    IMG_20220215_173329.jpg
Consequently, whenever the head unit finishes booting, the odometer unit is changed to kilometers, even if you manage to change it back before it finishes booting. Also, going into this menu will sometimes cause the truck to beep once. I can live with this being stuck, but it still really bothers me, so if anyone has any ideas I'd be happy to hear them.
    IMG_20220215_173504.jpg

I put one of the two extra USB ports between the steering column shell and the lower dashboard shell, right behind the ignition. The other connects to a USB ELM327 OBDII adapter behind the dashboard, which can be left in the port without draining the car battery.

One handy setting is the battery voltage display, but that only gives you an idea of how charged your battery is while the engine is off.

I've been having trouble with software instability. Basically, everything will be working fine, then out of nowhere, I'll turn the car on and try to launch something and I'll be assaulted with unending "[app] keeps stopping" dialog boxes. This can only be solved by a factory reset, which is annoying. So here's what I'm doing to try and control that:
Set the head unit to fully shut down 30 seconds after ACC off instead of auto sleep.
Do not install apps or download maps with removable storage in the head unit.
Do not pair the head unit to your phone over bluetooth. If something requires internet access, I'll just join the head unit to my phone's wifi hotspot.
Do not allow the head unit to shut down with removable storage inserted.
Do not allow the head unit to shut down with any apps open.

Items set in the factory settings menu persist after a factory reset. The password for that is 126.

Just an update for the sake of future readers. Got the T9 shortly after my post above. Install went easy, non JBL entune. Over the summer my friend noticed one of my speakers would occasionally cut out, never did anything about it, no static or anything just in and out occasionally. The other day lost all sound from speakers and commenced a multi day long search online and hours and hours of troubleshooting including checking fuses and wiring. Radio still works, just no sound, have exhausted every possibly option except head unit. As it has been over 1 year since purchase (1.5 yrs to be exact), no refund/repair/warranty was offered. I did have some limited help from the Facebook group community but to no avail. Anyways, seemed like a great deal when I bought it, but you do get what you pay for. Was offered a discount coupon on the new t10- still deciding whether I want to burn more money and expect a different result in just over a year when the warranty is out.

So, I'm looking at this as an option for my 2022 Tacoma limited, but need to know if I can retain all the options. I plan on completly removing all th JBL junk. Anyone happen to have one in a limited?

I have a 2022 Limited. With the T10 would I loose the entune options like remote start and lock/unlock from my phone?

You would need to swap to the larger radio surround for the premium but aside from that yes. Check the Dasaita threads for 3rd gen. Basically same radio.

Cool thanks. the T10 actually comes with the entire bezel housing. You'd just have to switch over the bezel trim. I was more worried about the harness being compatible. But thanks for the reply
