Hi guys, just wondering what you all think of ditching the rear cats? from my understanding this will not throw a cel.

am i asking for any negative effects performance, reliability, or mpg wise?

where i live there are no emission laws.

mostly looking for more growl, already had the muffler replaced with a deltaflow.

just wondering what you all think of doing this and any comments from people that already have

    thanks.

I had the same questions & I did not do it due to an overwhelming response that I would lose low end power. So here I am with an aftermarket muffler that I can barely hear....

I wish I could delete my wife's cat, actual cat btw. It would cause a total loss of low end and high end "power" tho as I wouldn't be getting any for a while.

I don't really see the point any more. Modern catalytic converters are not restrictive enough to make a difference.

I Removed mines, I'm getting 23-34 mpg highway and 20-21 mixed town/highway. that's with my flowmaster and a drop in k&N and secondary filter removed.

charocal filter delete/kn intake, rear cat delete. horn mod, 20% tint front windows, bull bar, M1 Full Syn, black plasti dip emblems. Next up aero turbine 2525xl muffler
dont listen to these hippies, I took of my rear 2. little more growl, im thinking of taking off the front 2 off and just putting 1 high flow 1 in the middle of the exhaust (like 1st gen 3.4 v6), or if I move to a non commie area ill take them both off.

    LOL

They weren't saying don't do it due to emissions, they were saying it from a low end power stand point.:smack:

It will throw a CEL depending on what emissions package your truck came with. You might need to put a resistor where the rear 02 sensor is to trick the ECU.
