Cat question- aftermarket Ok?

    Hi,

    1999 2.4L 2WD needs a cat converter. I've been to 3 repair shops and called 4 others and have received conflicting information. Some say only to go with a genuine Toyota cat ($615 or so), others say that aftermarket is fine if you can find one. Thanks for any help on this.

    Thanks for the tip. Is this something I can do myself? I'm relatively handy and have tools but I'm never done this before, nor do I have a manual.
