Just run a wire from the hood latch and weave it through the cat shield holes with a pull apart coupling if the plate is cut off or pulled off it would sound the alarm the thief would be gone. They may see the wire and give it a yank or cut it and alarm goes off. should be pretty simple.

Order placed! Finally an affordable CAT shield.

Cant we all agree that everything that is meant to provide some form of protection or anti theft can be ultimately broken into? These shields aren't meant to completely fix CAT theft, they're a deterrent. The idea is that the CAT thief will either move along or have to spend significantly longer time trying to steal the CAT.

Cali Raised designed a decent deterrent for an affordable price. Yes, there are some heavier duty and arguably unbreakable CAT shields out in the market, but that comes at a price.

I'm looking forward to having this piece of mind under my truck.

We appreciate your support! You nailed it on the head! That's why we went with this design so we can provide an affordable deterrent!

As of right now it only fits the 4wd. We are testing it next week to see if it works on 2wd

Where were you when I bought my $400 stainless steel Miller cat shield?!! Can’t speak for product itself since I haven’t seen it in person but your price point is great. Looking forward to someone comparing your design versus the typical full coverage style.

We wanted to design a cat shield that is capable with skid plates. The full coverage would not be capable with ours and a lot of skid plates

So are you planning on making one to fit the 2.7L 2WD?

Ill document any changes or machining i need to do.
But looking at it in the install video i don't think any changes will be necessary.
Hasn't shipped yet so maybe some time next week.

I'm in the same boat. I ordered a set for my 2WD.

From what I understand the spacing between cross members is about an inch or so closer on the 2WD. It might take some bending and cutting, but either way, it's gonna make a fun weekend project.

Edit, I live just 15 minutes up the road from @CaliRaisedLed and have free time on Saturday. Hint hint... :cookiemonster:

Hopefully you can make it work with minimum modifications. I also have a 2WD and placed an order.

I'm fairly confident that it can be modified with minimal fuss. It looks like it butts up against the forward cross member, but really it only bolts to the transmission member and brace. And unless I'm mistaken that brace ("transmission bracket") fits on all six frame configurations (from what few parts diagrams I could find). That tells me that the bolt holes should at least align even if the space between is going to be tighter on our 2WDs. And that gives me some wiggle room to work with. :cookiemonster:

Either way, its worth the purchase price to experiment with.

Might be a silly question, but is it safe to assume this will fit on a truck with the 6MT trans?
