So I've read many threads on different ways to help axle wrap, but never got an explanation of what the cause is.

My taco suffers from the dreaded thump or rear-end feeling when braking and accelerating. It feels like it's coming from the tranny, so why do all the fixes have to do with the rear leafs?

Engine torque amy play a role but braking is a bigger factor. Weak leaf springs allow the axle to rotate when you apply the brakes. Releasing the brakes when tha taxle is torqued is the thump that is felt.

So does it just feel like thumping when breaking and accelerating? What does it feel like? I never seen that before. Are yourcentering pins broken? It shouldnt move like that if the centering pin is in right? I dont know. good luck

Yeah, that sketch should be in the FAQs or something. It answers an awful lot of questions posted in this forum.
