    Great post. I've been contemplating how to mount my CV antenna up front similar to this. However, I have fiberglass, so no antenna hole. I also left the stock lower antenna mast on the fender because I couldn't get the top part off of the fender.

    Yeah. The chrome ring at the top of the part that conforms to the bumper wouldn't budge. For whatever reason, I refused to cut it off, so I just cut the cable. Doesn't make any sense now, but it did at the time. :rofl:

    Forgot about this thread. I was getting 3-3.5ish:1 SWR on the 2' antenna before any tuning.
