I can't wait to see how this turns out! I gave up on this idea shortly after I posted almost a year ago!

Why are you guys scared to just do it yourself? Someones gotta be first.

Problem I see is in your design, you're talking a small stud for the FM antenna, and a 5/8"s stud on the-three times as big-firestik.

You aren't going to be mounting a firestik to that shit. Sorry. You're going to be removing the entire antenna mount and making something else of your own. Then you're going to have to worry about the added weight/wind resistance of the firestik bending the crap sheet metal quarter panels our trucks are made out of.

If you're looking for plug and play.... look somewhere else.

I second this. Firestik is way heavier with a much larger cross section than a factory antenna. I would be worried about breaking that tiny stud. Who knows if the factory antenna wiring is 50 Ohms impedance. If youre going to mount it there i would suggest removing the entire mount and wiring and redoing it. Honestly i would just get one of the relentless hood hinge mounts and mount it on the other side.

You can use a device like that to combine the FM signal into a CB antenna.

You can not use your stock FM antenna for CB.

As mentioned above a half dozen times, the CB antenna is going to be too long and heavy for the stock antenna mount.
Screw a Firestick down on a stock mount and it'll break off within a couple of weeks from fatiguing the stud.

Run the CB into the stock antenna, and you'll be lucky to talk as far as a walkie-talkie... put any power behind it and you'll blow the radio.

I know, that's what I was saying. I was talking about using the firestick as the antenna for the radio also. I just don't know how that would work.

    Would work fine.

For the most part, length is not very critical for a receiving antenna once you're over 16".

Brian's comment was in regard to those trying to keep the exterior stock or use a Firestick on the stock mount.
You just posted the adapter and my impression is you were thinking it went the other way (CB into FM antenna).
