Not an expert by any stretch of the imagination, but it seems to be working just fine for me so far. I do not know what range I can get with it yet, but, like I said, it was pretty much spot-on tuned with no adjustment, and at about $20, I figured it was worth the risk.

You cant talk to PD or FD with a scanner they use a diffrent radio band. If thats what you want to listen to get a scanner not a CB. CBs dont have that great fo range, most of the people using them on here use them for trail rides where everyone is close togeather.

I don't think my Galaxy is a poor quality radio. I had it peaked and tuned. I don't want the bother for the stinkin test.

You probably won't get caught, but if you attract the attention of the local amateur radio community, they might make it a sport to hunt you and turn you in to the FCC.

(ETA: If you're just "peaked and tuned" by a licensed tech it's completely legal. If it's by an unlicensed tech, it could be a little over-power, and technically it's not legal to operate it if it's been tampered with by an unlicensed tech. The forfeiture orders usually only start when people are running high-power amplifiers.)

It was done by Premeir Electronics. I wasn't going to let some redneck dumba$$ touch it.

Been this way for several years. It's only 200 xtra. :anonymous:
