Too much to list, but enough to get me in trouble. Repeatedly.
In case no one has figured it out yet: yes, I used to drive a Freightliner.

well I 86'd the uniden 510XL and replaced it with a Cobra 25LTD... needless to say, problem fixed. I haven't picked up anyone talking with the cobra yet, as I just put it in, but as far as feedback goes, its gone.

Winch, front hitch, step bars, bed extender, bed step, gull-wing toolbox, tailgate lock, security system, cb radio, etc.
I dislike them as well. Notice I suggested it as a last resort solution. And, in that case, it's certainly better than nothing.

Read the second sentence in paragraph three. As for your SWR, mine is even better - and the superior ground plane I use also offers excellent performance. :)

She's kinda near stock... for now
Reviving an ancient thread... my bad.

So I installed a 4' whip on my hood and every time I had keyed the mic I would get horrendous feedback. I have a pretty decent sound system that has bypassed the factory audio wire harnesses. My coax feed right ontop of the speaker wires. I added chokes and aluminum tape to the coax and power lines.

It was a far fetched idea for my 3rd gen but this was the only thread I found online that had pages of information. Figured I would post my experience incase someone else finds this with the same issue we all were in.

Aluminum foil tape on the coax did affect my swr negatively on ch1 and lowered on ch40. Both sit at 1.21 which at the moment I am "ok" with.
