CB LOCATIONS! POST THEM PICS!!!!

Where does everyone install there CB's inside the cab? Any great ideas? share them here!

Cobra WX. If I'm not using it, you don't really know it's there.

 

I didn't look at it. It's the second gen section, so I figured it would help.

 

Is the CB itself in your console? That looks good! I have to use another location because I have a built in car safe using the storage

 

This is what I am most likely going to do, just trying to see if there is a way to hide it when not in use

 

The handset is the radio. There is "junction box" under the driver seat where the antenna lead and power connect.

 

I copied an idea from here, industrial velcro, dusted off a 16yr old Tristar 120 with an original K40 mag mount, still talks like a champ. Need to run power straight from the battery soon.

 

Nice! I am going to prolly play with velcro myself when it comes time to installing mine.

 

THAT is a badass way.... idk how I feel about cutting into the truck but that looks clean

 

you have a 6" lift, so your frame is already cut haha. Plus this gets hidden by the passenger seat.

It does take some tedious soldering though so it is very labor intensive and lends itself to making a mistake and ruing the radio.

 

Yeah I actually bought my Tacoma with the 6 in lift already. I would have went with a 3 in but I got such a good deal on this I could not pass it up... This might be something I look into for future use... It might be worth the risk to me... it is just so clean!

 

I started with a used radio. I did not check the radio before I started, which was a mistake on my part. I got it all installed, and could not transmit. I could receive just fine, but the finals got fried. I am not sure if I did it or if it came that way. So, I had it in the truck for 2 weeks and ripped it out unfortunately. But, I would more than likely do it again, just no need for a CB anymore.

 

Hidden CB:

 

was wanting to do similar set up but I have a safe there so I would not be able to store it there.... If there was a CB radio where you could store the box underneath the seat like the post above and then have a wired screen where we could mount in view I think that would sell like hot cakes.

 

I do recall seeing someone take the face off a bear cat radio and soldering longer wires making it two parts. Lot of wires though.

When wheeling after I initially turn it on, never need to look at it.
