you can run the red power wire directly to the battery no problem i would suggest protecting the wire using wire loom or sometimes called flex loom. give me a few minutes and ill post something up about the fuse block

you should ask the mods to separate this from the main topic and create its own thread, we are straying way off topic even though they are CB related

I shot the mod an email about separating. I'll try to copy and paste on a new thread so that you can still follow-up on the fuse block. Thanks for the suggestion.

Is this radio gonna stay in your truck at all times? I just got one of the 12v cigarette adapter and wired it to my radio wiring, That way I can take the radio out when not in use

I will probably leave it in there only because if I take it out, I'll expose the bracket holding it up. That's a knee accident waiting to happen. I'll probably ask the guys at Circuit City if they can put it under the a single din stereo whenever I should replace the factory stereo. You did bring up a valid point.

I went to your photos and didn't see a CB there. Is it under SoCalTacos site?

I'd look at this mount if you don't want to drill.

    http://firestik.com/Catalog/K6.htm

Either that or a magnetic mount.

I actually have a good magnetic mount, talked to a guy today at the local cb shop, I'll buy a bumper mount but I have a welder and a oxy acetelyne torch so I'll make my own..no drilled holes

I hope you all don't mind me bring up an old thread but I was looking at this pic and was wondering who's truck this is on. Because I have mine mounted the same way. I am wondering if the stud he has the antenna mounted to moves when the antenna whips in the wind because if I move my antenna I can see my stud moving a Little in the bumper and wonder if that if normal. Thanks

I bought a Uniden CB earlier this summer and mounted it uder the glovebox. The wife hates it there because it takes up too much room. I like your mounting location monkeysuncle. I am debating on switching to this http://www.cobra.com/products/mobil...t-cb-radio-with-soundtracker-and-noaa-weather Cobra instead to save some room.

As far as an antenna I will use @ a '3 Firestik with the metal bracket that snakes between the hood and fender. I have the wannabe cellphone antenna from Radio Shack mounted right now and it is crap. It is supposed to send a signal through the glass but hardly works at all.
