I live in West Virginia and will be visiting the Phoenix area next month. I am staying with family in Sun City and will be there from around January 18th to February 26th. Was just wondering if anyone could maybe lend me a hand running the antenna wire and hooking up power to the cb. I don't know much about these things and am a disabled vet so I can't get up under the truck like I used to. Any help would be appreciated, maybe even go to lunch after at Dillon's or Shane's. Love that BBQ!

I am sure there might be someone who can help you! There are quite a few guys who live out on that side of town.

I'm not on that side of town at all, but if nobody on that side of town can lend a hand let me know and I'll get out there and help you out.

There are a few companies that sell quality CB products down here. In fact I think Firestick has a shop in central phoenix somewhere.

I have been looking at the Firestiks. I don't really want a whip style antenna. Too tall for my garage.

I appreciate the replys and soon to come help. I am looking at going ahead and buying a "permanent mount" cb. Maybe a Cobra. My original plan was to drive my mom's car out to Phoenix because it gets way better gas mileage than my Tacoma. We come out together as she still has a sister near 51st and Camelback. I was just going to use the Midland portable for the trip and maybe sell it when we get back to WV and buy a Cobra. Now we have decided to take my truck so the portable cb plan kinda got changed. I have already bought the Midland though so I'll shop around for another radio that I will probably mount under the heater control buttons.

I just ordered a Cobra 18 WX ST II to use instead of the Midland 75-822. I also got a 4' Firestik and cable to install. Anything else I will need for the install?
