i was hoping it was going to be a little darker, but it’s still a tasteful color.

Post more trucks as you get ‘me. I’ve still got eight weeks to go.

I’ve got one coming in. Supposed to be here “early November”. Not my first choice in color, but top 3. I saw the color on a Rav. It had a lot of flake.

If you’ve seen a new silver Camry the past few years, you’ve seen this color. Terrible overcast overexposed pic of the Tacoma.

Kinda begs the question “why bother?”. Unless Silver Sky was a more expensive formulation, and this is a cost savings.

The rear passenger door looks odd, paint doesn't really match.

Maybe for Celestial Silver they are just using up all the Silver Sky mispaints and seconds?

Celestial Silver is probably used to make Electric Lime Metallic. Toyota should of went with Classic Silver Metallic found on the 4Runner.

Or just stuck with the silver they already had? We are splitting hairs here.

I like silver sky metallic better than the sliver streak that it replaced. I thought it looked less metallic. I don't know how long classic silver metallic has been used on the 4Runner but it looks good. I don't know why Toyota doesn't use classic silver on all of their silver vehicles., or one shade of silver across the board?

Celestial Silver sounds like a brand of tea.

I believe Silver Sky became a “premium option” in the last couple years. You had to pay more for it IIRC. It’s an interesting colour for something as boring as silver. Changes a lot with the quality of the light. Can look very dark and rich, and kinda bland in other lights. Sometimes is more bluish, and sometimes very warm. As silver goes, it was a winner. Hopefully this new silver is different enough to be noticeable.

I have high hopes for this silver. I am a fan of silver vehicles, but to be honest, I don't think Toyota has had a "good" silver option since my 2002 Toyota 4Runner in Millennium Silver. It's like THAT was the last one that shined. The 2nd and 3rd gen Tacos as well as 4th and 5th gen 4runners had a super dull silver that struggled to shine in almost ANY light. It's like is was so dull that it swallowed up light and had all the shine and sparkle of a day old newspaper.

I want to see it in person. I had almost resigned any new choice to black because I couldn't get excited about how dull their 2021 silver was.

Please post up your 2022 CELESTIAL SILVER METALLIC when you can. Or, if someone sees one out in the wild, snap a picture. Extra credit if it happens to be sunny out! We might not see sun here in the PNW for a few months. lol.

Well that's promising. At least this silver seems to shine a bit in the sunlight. I'd love to see a side by side comparing the 2021 & 2022 silvers. It doesn't look like they are using the updated silver for 2022 4Runners though. This might make my decision lean in favor of a DCSB Or or Pro.

I'm still waiting for my SR5 in celestial silver metallic. But I saw the dealership got an SR on that color so I had to go check it out in person and I'm definitely glad I chose it! This silver looks great, hopefully the pictures can do it justice. IMG-20211106-WA0003.jpg IMG-20211106-WA0005.jpg IMG-20211106-WA0001.jpg

Thanks for snapping some pictures! I think this is an improved silver for Toyota. Good choice btw! This one seems to have some shine with all that flake in it.

I just picked mine up. Great color, but the front bumper does not match. It is darker. Looks like the sr posted a couple above is the same. All in all impressed with the improvements from my 2019.

I just put in my order for an off-road premium in celestial silver. This color looks better in person than in pics imo.
