Luckily I walked away without a scratch. Guy went through a red going about 50. I had a shell that flew about 50 ft from the impact. Drivetrain snapped in half. Thinking it is totaled, but we will find out.

Glad you are okay but with that kind of body damage there's no way it's not totaled. Even IF the greatest body man fixed that the deppreciation would be killer.

    On another note, part out?:D

Ouch, the fact that you were able to walk away is comforting at least.

Hopefully it's totaled...If I were you I'd be worried that getting "fixed" would lead to other problems down the road when things weren't aligned exactly as they should have been.

glad your okay, it took a hard hit with that type of damage to drivetrain, it will be expensive to fix for sure, looks like the cab and roof are fine from the pictures, the rear door, back window, and bedside are trashed. What surprises me are how well the gaps are still aligned on front part of truck.

Yeah hopefully totaled. It's going to be hard to find a new Cement Pro though if thats the case. Then I would need to figure out a plan B.

I wonder how that works since theses vehicles usually sell with an addendum adding 5-10k to them. Did you have GAP?

Also I'd love to know how much they will charge you to keep the totaled vehicle if they pay you out. I had a 12V dodge that they let me keep for 1k off the total check. Ended up using parts to fix my truck, got to keep my XD wheels that I loved and paid $700 for and then sold the rest for 4K lol

I'd imagine they would take a good amount to keep the truck but there's some parts I'm sure you can sell. How's the grill? I'm sure someone would snatch that up

    WOW... Glad you are OK.
As far as being totaled I would believe it will be based on the where the truck was hit. In my opinion if the drive shaft snapped then the force of the impact was great. It might also have bent the rear axle and who knows what else.
Good luck and keep all of us posted.

Yikes - poor truck. Glad you are ok! Curious- Was there a hilift or something heavy under the shovel? Did it tear out of the mount? Also, what was holding down the shell, c-type clamps? How many?

Would like to be sure mine are battened down enough based on what you found. Thanks!

That SUCKS man.. glad you're OK :)

Yeah we've seen a few nasty hits here on TW and the 3rd Gen seems to soak it up well and protect the occupants.

    Bimmer driver. Shocker.

Cheers and GL on the new ride - you can get Cement on an '18 OR now too IIRC.

I saw a different tacoma that got t boned by a lowered car and the back bottom corner was damaged on the cab and the frame bent and it was totaled. That was a 2015 it happened in 2016. Had low miles.

Looks like you will be looking for a new vehicle. Now that you basically have a “do over” will you go back to a tacoma?
