    Yeah It sucks man, That is our 5th crash in just over a year. Way to many especially for such a small service. I am not sure if I knew anyone on board or not, most likely not but it still hits home being in aviation also. Thanks Guys. I used to be stationed in Port Angeles so I am semi familiar with the area they were flying. There are TONS of HIGH power lines in that area that are all really hard to see.

    I do not believe any of the souls that perished in that mishap were on the board. I'm good friends with the little brother of the pilot who died and I work with several people who know members of the crew personally.

    This makes 7 major mishaps in the past 22 months...with 14 deaths and most of the airframes lost.

    Lord, guard and guide the men who fly
    Through the great spaces of the sky.
    Be with the travelers in the air,
    In darkening storms or sunlight fair;
    Oh, hear us when we lift our prayer,
    For those in peril in the air!

    Eternal Father, Lord of hosts,
    Watch o'er the men who guard our coasts.
    Protect them from the raging seas
    And give them light and life and peace.
    Grant them from thy great throne above
    The shield and shelter of thy love.

    The District Commander's press conference from the day of the accident.

    Slideshow images from the accident.

    This accident literally happened in front of the station out there. I beleive they were to salvage the airframe this morning. A chinook arrived yesterday afternoon to do the salvage but it was put off until today.

    Pretty hectic and sad out there. The Quileute Indian tribe was fantastic for their support and I would like to thank them for the dinner and prayers they provided.
