Some flags and center console divider... lots of things on the wanted list.
I don't believe it's the initial intention. But there is some profit to be made, like if the machinery is part of the deal or not. Also the proprietary design of some of the parts could now be JLee's. But 90% of this deal was to make sure people got righted when a company who made money from this forum wronged them.

I also don’t think they were expecting to pay 131k. I think at 40-50 they could have made it all right and what not and still been able to turn a profit. But at the sell price I have to imagine that they will need to recoup some money.

I would think that everyone who got screwed would have a cost to get stuff (deeply discounted) so that there is some money to be recouped.

    Someone said it.
I'm sure they'll help those that were screwed, and the logistics/risk/time they're taking to do it is nice. But like you said, I'm sure there's more to the story. No one's gonna take thousand dollar losses as charity.
If that were the case, why not just donate to those that didn't get an order. Even if there is other motivation, it doesn't cancel out what the good deed they will do for those that got robbed.

Im totally with you, I think the fact that there is some potential profit was likely considered in making this deal...as you said though I dont think they would have been as interested if it were not for the folks in a bad situation to begin with that they chose to personally fix. This is great news man.

You know how easy it is to modify a steel bumper right?
Not much to patent/protect there. Take the baseline dimensions, change a couple bends. Done

Seemingly, they could create a charity, donate the product to charity, with the business getting a write-off.

They in turn sell some product at a discount, give some away to members that were ripped off, and come out nearly even when considering the tax savings.

    But IANAL.

    enough to go over stuff
I'm sure they are planning on making the 131k back plus costs and then trying to help those that got screwed. If I were to buy the lot I would get a list of those that were wronged. I would set those products aside. Sell the rest and once I hit my costs I would then give those that were wronged the products I set aside, at little to no cost. @JLee and @jberry813 are amazing people so maybe they have a better plan but that would be mine.

You have to have enough profit on the deal to be able to "write-off" anything though. So first they have to come up with 130k+ in sales of this product to break even on this. Not counting the costs of getting all this product in their facility, figuring out how to ship it, etc... Interesting move by them. Curious to see how it plays out.

    Some really cool shit
I picked up parts from BAMF last week. Jerry informed me that if he won the bid all products ready to ship would be, and every effort would be made to find out who already paid, and was awaiting delivery. But it’s my opinion that there’s no way they would do this and take a loss. It appeared in photos that there was more than enough product left over to sell, and make a profit.

Honestly, these dudes are propping up the aftermarket community on their own backs for TW.

This is huge on so many fronts. Leading the industry to go out and help people like this.

I'm not really sure why people are discussing the financials. It's their business. They obviously have the best of intentions. They deserve the support of TW and others!

What ever good juju, karma, will you all get is well deserved.

So, maybe I need to read for the answer but I'm going to ask: will some items be available for sale on TW?

They’ve said several times that everything is developing and will be discussed later.
