So, I've been reading the posts in the various forums and have been learning about what is needed when doing an aftermarket suspension lift. However I want to make sure that I'm not missing anything. I believe the follow are needed, please correct me if I'm wrong:

Suspension 2" lift: Front & Rear
UCA: needed for max travel of front suspension
    LCA: needed for long travel
    Diff Drop: optional?
    Carrier Bearing Drop: needed
    New bump stops: needed
    Extended Brake lines: needed
Wheel spacers: needed with new UCA?
CMC: needed if running larger tires 33"+?

    Am I missing anything?

Suspension 2" lift: Front & Rear
UCA: needed for max travel of front suspension
    • YES, but you can get away with no UCA if you stay below 2"
    LCA: needed for long travel
    • or mid travel or strength
    Diff Drop: optional?
    •
    Carrier Bearing Drop: needed
    •
    New bump stops: needed
    • can go either way, nicer bump stops are preferred
    Extended Brake lines: needed
    • 2" or below, no, anything above yes
Wheel spacers: needed with new UCA?
    • or wheels with proper back spacing
CMC: needed if running larger tires 33"+?
    • depends on rims and tire width, CMC need with some 33s
    EDIT: STRONGLY CONSIDER ECGS BUSHING!!!

    What is the ECGS bushing?

ECGS bushing replaces a poorly designed "Needle Bearing" that attaches the front driver side wheel/axle to the front differential. Lifted 4x4 Tacomas have a very high chance of a failure in the needle bearing which causes a grinding/pulsating sound when driving in 2WD. Big enough known issue that Toyota has a TSB for it. Search the forum for needle bearing to learn more.

ECGS = East Coast Gear Supply. Stand up folks. Have dealt with their owner directly as a customer.

So, it sounds like if you decide to upgrade your suspension and are wanting at least a 2" lift, there are more parts needed than just the front and rear suspension. I also forgot about the AAL options.
