This is like one of those games out of a Highlights magazine... "can you spot the difference between these two pictures."

I have no idea what I'm looking at. I see in the top pic that black hose making a loop and coming back to the IAC (?) but I really don't see wtf I'm supposed to be seeing.

In the top pic, the hose is bent forward and stressed/kinked.
The the bottom pic, I loosened the clamp, rotated the hose back toward the intake plenum, and released the clamp. It is a molded hose and wants to be in a certain shape. You will be able to tell once you have taken it apart and see where stuff connects.

Dood, you can do this. Feel the Taco. Be the Taco. You're the Taco be and see. You.

No. You'll get a little dribble out of the two hoses you disconnect. Not even enough to top off coolant. Just clamp both coolant lines wtih vide grips/ C clamps before you take them off, and be ready to catch a little fluid in a tuna can. Or stick a rag under them.

    Great...

About halfway down on this guy's write up: http://www.top4runners.com/ja/cleantb.html he says, "Then, remove the throttle cable and transmission throttle-pressure (kickdown) cable ends from the linkage assembly. To do so, first rotate the linkage by hand to provide slack in the cable, then push the cable end out of the linkage mechanism. You can leave the cruise control cable in place"

Can you see the cruise control cable in either of these pics? If so, could you point it out to me

Thats your throttle cable. Thats what opens the butterfly valve in your throttle body

I don't see it in the pics, but it comes from the left side (from this perspective, looking toward the windshield). The CC controller sits on top of the passenger side wheel wheel. Black box with a cable going to the same location as these.

Bascically, disconnect all the shit preventing you from taking the TB off. Installation is the reverse. Everything can go back only one way.

I have done all the hi-pro mods for a life time, since I got this truck at a great price, I will be happy with showroom new.
that's right, that is why I suggested to just take your time, and do it in steps.

its a simple operation that will make your truck run good and last. part of the carbon buildup is from e10. keeping the engine well tuned, i like to change plugs 25,000 miles period, taking your pvc valve out and spraying it with carb cleaner will help keep the build up down.

When I take the throttle body off, I keep all the brackets (eg throttle cable bracket) and such still attached, right?

Obviously I remove hoses and sensors that prevent its removal, but the brackets that are merely attached to the TB itself, I just leave those on, yeah?
