been thinking about changing out all the fluids in my truck from the brand new ''breaking in period.'' the diff especially .... motor oil, transfer case ect , is it worth spending the money on?? what fluids should i change out??? i hear people who change fluids out after the first few thousand miles notice dirty fluids.... then after changing , the fluids stay very clean for a long time..

The Amsoil stuff is pricey but top notch.

If you are in this truck for the long haul, it's worth the difference in cost.

I'd use it in the long-term replacement interval areas (differential and transfer case) and just use good oil and filter in the engine.

Who knows, if your diff isn't starting to howl, the Amsoil may prevent it from ever happening.

    I'm glad you posted this.

This goes in my memo for when I get mine.

    I think so...

    I changed:
    *oil @ 1,250-2,500-5,000-Toyota 0W-20
    *diffetentials @ 5,000 w/ Redline 75W-85 GL-5
    *T case @ 5,000 w/ Toyota LF

I wish I had done the differentials a lot sooner. Not so much because of color or metal; but, because of thermal degradation of the fluid during gear break in.
The t.case fluid, in my case, could have gone without. I'm probably going to change out the t.case with Red line MT-90 @ 10,000. Again, it probably doesn't need it, but I have put on a lot more 4x4 miles since the change @ 5,000. However, the t.case is always lubricating via siphon pump; even in 2wd

    I plan on doing an ATF flush @ 10,000 and re-examine @ 20,000.

FYI, I was able to change the t.case with one can of Toyota LF, even though I bought two, because the listed capacity required it.

Good info here. Been thinking about changing my diffs myself. I'm a little over 18k myself. Just been trying to figure out the best to use. I ran the mobile 1 synthetic in my last taco for both engine and diff.
