Cheap Mod doesn't work for me

I was looking in the cheap mods and how to do the turn signal mod. I spliced the wiring like it said to and connected the wires (thankfully it was only my driver side) and the hazard light fuse popped. Why is this happening? Is there a way around it or just get a relay?

figured it out, all you have to do is just add in a wire and in a sense delete another. I can snap shots if you want me to. But all in all, you really just need is

I used some 16g speaker wire I had laying around. You won't need much. what I did was take out the wiring from the loom, then make your splice to the turn signal and then with the other wire, you will use the butt connector. I figured out what I did wrong also ... I'm stupid I know lol. What I was doing was I thought for some stupid reason to butt connect to the live wire, instead of connecting to the wire coming from the side marker.
