I am not sure what the weight restrictions are for the OEM tonneau cover. I have stood on it before and it seemed fine but I am not sure on the specifics of what it can hold.

    I'm going to order my cover 8" high x 56" x 33".

They said lead time was 3-4 weeks.

    Thanks for the measurements!!

You are welcome! I can't wait to see how it comes out! When does the tent come?

Question, is it attached to the tonneau cover and not to the bed rails?

Yes mine is just connected to the cover. For me this okay as I will not have much weight on the load bars when going down the road. Of course when I am actually in the tent the weight will be higher but it will be pushing down on the bed rail and not so much on the middle of the cover. If you prefer a beefier setup then go with the voodoo load bars which use the bed rails and can carry more weight.

    I guess I'm a little slow

Do you have to have a tonneau cover or could this work with an open bed and cargo/ cross bars?

Would I need a third bar to take the place of the wooden legs the OP is using?

Just wanted to point out, that those Kamprite tentcots are terrible. They may be waterproof, and may keep you off the ground, but thats what we had in our CHU's during a Iraq deployment, and after about a months worth of use the suspended fabric you sleep on stretches and sags down....leaving your back resting on those metal leg-support-brace-bars. Sure, keeps the sand and scorpions from getting in your sleeping bag with you, but the back pain just isnt worth it.

Just my 2 cents. But we didnt have the double version either....dont know if that'll be better or worse.

I bet you could pop 2 thin pieces of plywood in there and it should prevent that droop.

Thanks for the feedback. I haven't had it long enough to really know. They have had good reviews from others so I guess time will tell. There have been a few others in this thread that have had them and they said they liked them but I am not sure how long or what type of environment the used them in.

I was thinking this but using treated ply and even wrapping it with outdoor carpeting.

I was looking through camping gear and realized I had an extra one (Amazon can't count). But since you already have one, I can't imagine you need a second.
