Cheapest but Proper way to step your way up in ground clearance?

    Hello everyone,

    Been doing some reading on here and found guys saying a 255/85/16 tire will work w/o rubbing on my Stock 2019 OR. Assuming this is the case, can anyone tell me if there is a legit way to gain some offset, just enough to be able to do a slightly wider 33" w/o rubbing? Id be open to either very minimal spacers on the OEM wheels or replacing the wheels w/ a built-in offset. Looking for someone to tell me what offset would be needed if I dont lift the truck. Im also open to suggestions on affordable lifts but whether its wheel spacers or lift kits, I only want to do it properly or not at all. I feel like I paid to too much money for quality suspension in the TRD OR to then turn around and have some clunky thing that hurts the truck. Just looking to see if there is a way to get a little extra height via tires and make it look good w/o sacrificing the ride. I moved, so Im not doing much off-roading these days either.     No. 255 85 16 tires are the only way to get a 33" without rubbing. If you move the tire inward, you'll rub on the UCA. If you move it outward, you'll rub on plastic and then on the cab mount & pinch weld.

    Some people have reported success with +10 offset wheels and 285 75 16. This is just barely enough room to clear the UCA. You want the 2nd gen TRD beadlock style wheels. You will still likely have some minor plastic trimming. 0 offset wheels, which are very popular, will rub even more unless you are ready to trim and cut as needed.

    Tl/dr stick with 255s or be prepared to do the work to make them fit.

    Check out the TOYO Open Country MT in 255/85/16 measures slightly wider than most 255s and a little taller than 33! You could also try spacers to augment the rim offset, but as others have explained it’s a balancing act between hitting the UCAs and other components.
