So, my 01 has everything else, including power locks, but no keyless entry, has anyone found a nice CHEAP keyless entry system that works well on a 1st gen? It's not a necessity so I don't care to break the bank on it.
should I just grab something off of ebay?

    Thanks in advance!

i just bought a 4 door actuator/ keyless entry at a local shop here in Winnipeg (Princess Auto) for $89 and installed everything in 6 hours. Keyless entry in all 4 doors using aftermarket system. What i learned was, try everything to work first by putting power to it (battery) before attempting to install it. Driver side first and test lock-unlock each time as you go along. Its been 7 months with 0 issues.

so, I got my keyless entry, it's very NOT pug n play. the directions are no good, and it says I need a relay that isn't included. We'll see how I feel about this once I get it installed. I'm no good with electronics!

lots of interest all of the sudden. I'll let you guys know!

Andrew, you have to buy power locks and install those first, from what I read, it's not worth it. as in expensive and hard work

When I got my 2001, it already had a car starter/keyless entry combo. Car starter is the BEST accessory for the canadian!

Converting a 95 to have power locks

I remember reading a thread recently, under the above title, which may help you decide. I have a 2001 with manual locks and windows as well, and I will get around to changing mine after reading this.

We also have a 95 that didn't come with remotes. We later hooked the alarm and locks together, best thing we ever did! A lot of people don't remember what a PITA is was to use a key to get in! After a while you'd pay almost anything for keyless entry!! Hope this helps.
