check engine light need to pass inspection

    lift kit (12'), super swampers 38's, brush gard, kc's , sub, amps, high end audio equipment
    alright so i took my truck to get it inspected and the engine light was on. (because of my tires) well got there they cleared it and told me to drive around well after about 2 1/2 hrs of driving back and forth the light came back on.. he cleared it again and i was wondering if there was a way to pass the inspection without having to get a new speed sensor (mine is broken)

    Why are your tires causing a CEL?

    Based on my calculations....you need a new speed sensor.

    I don't think you will be able to pass without fixing it. Not what you want to hear, but I'm afraid you are just out of luck. (Disclaimer: not sure what your state inspection laws are)

    Or buy a Scan Tool and clear your own codes right before you pull up to have it inspected??? Probably make sure you go do a different inspection station too?

    remove bulb. no CEL anymore.

    yea they hooked it up anyways.. but i'm trying to get it fixed this weekend.. i'm going to try and do it myself.. not sure how hard its going to be though..

    The code am I referring to is the CEL. You have to scan it with a reader (plugs into the OBDII port under the driverside dash). It's the same thing the inspection people do.
