I hadn’t really thought about it, I don’t like the metric system, my apple workout app doesn’t tell me my pace even at the mile marks so I’m just used to checking my watch for the pace.
I haven’t run any local events, I’ve done some virtual 5K’s with family, and I had signed up for a 5K that was a LEO memorial run in the next state but didn’t run it because I ended up working until 6 hours before the run started. I may look into some but they aren’t very popular around here (even though I’m in the second largest city in the state) there aren’t a ton of runners.

I have using RunTopia. It is free, can be used with metric or standard, has an audible coach who tells you when you have ever K and tells you yiur current pace. It really helps. I have found myself getting a pacing partner who slows down on me & I dont realize it until I hear my pace from the coach. It helps keep you steady and moving

I’ll have to try it, thanks for the tip!

    What a Labor Day....
Run was terrible because I ate chili’s with the family tonight (got the margarita chicken so it wasn’t calorically expensive) and waited about 2 and a half hours after to run but I still felt like an elephant.

The little storm Gordon made it to wet to run, so instead I did 6 miles on a stationary bike (following the 3:1 rule) to make up for it, as well at 2 sets of 20 push-ups. I’m happy with how my cardio is progressing, tomorrow I’ll be sitting on an airplane most of the day so I don’t know if I’ll be able to workout, although I do need to work on my calithenics.

Only ran once (1 mile) in the past 9 days (vacation in So-Cal) so I started back with a 1.5 run and some new Brooks Ghost 11’s

Only 2 runs in the past week unfortunately, tonight’s run felt pretty good though.

I’m gonna be sore tomorrow! 30 push-ups and then a 2 mile run.

As long as my my mile and a half time is under 18:00 I’m happy, I’ll be happier at 14:00 though.

Cut back to 1.5 because my PT test is 1.5, test is Thursday night, no running tomorrow, rest up/hydrate for PT and see how it goes, I feel pretty good about it, more worried about my push-ups than my run, but I’ll knock them out.

Last time I took a PT test my pace with the group was better than just me running solo. As long as you can hit it you should be just fine.

Did pretty well! 10 of us rested, initially they started fast, after 1/8th mile I started dropping back a little to keep the pace that I’ve been training at, gassed out because a track messes with me mentally, ran the straights and walked the ends, on my 5th lap (final) an older guy (former .Mil) who looks like Steve Austen ran with me to finish up.
Overall quite happy with my pace.
Gotta do 1.5 in 14:30 or less now, I have until the end of December to cut it down so I’m gonna be eating right and running 2 miles at least 2x a week now.
I forgot to stop my watch after crossing the line, I think I was about 20 seconds faster than what the watch says.

First run in 10 days, very surprised with my time for not running lately, but pleased with it.
Going to get an actual gym membership tomorrow (probably), still trying to decide if I want to spend $15-$20/month on a gym and have to deal with people or just spend the 20 minute drive and gas money to use my friends in home gym for free and not worry about other people.

First time back in a gym with weights in quite a while, knocked out 3 rounds in 49:49 (I was hoping for 45:00 or under but alas) and now I’m sore and Running a fever, gonna make sure to stay hydrated and not let this become a real sickness.

Yesterday the family took a walk after dinner, I jogged part of it (full stomach and jeans don’t go well with jogging) and was still dissappinted in my time. The view was amazing though.

And then when I got home did a 4.5 mile stationary bike ride in just under my 1.5 run time.

Fever kicked my ass Thursday night/Friday morning so I didn’t do anything except hydrate and eat to make sure I kicked it.
Went to a corn maze with family this evening and knocked it out in just under an hour (1.76 miles) and then went back and helped the rest of the family find their way (another 1.73 miles) and that took another 55 minutes so I got a good walk in, then when I got home I did a 1.5 run in 16:26. I’m definitely improving my running, if I had been running with fresh legs and no trace of allergies I feel like I would’ve done about 20 seconds fasterwhich would be a solid 2:30 faster 1.5 time than I had 3 months ago.

I didn’t eat well today though, fast food burger and fries with sweet tea for brunch, cheese quesadilla for dinner and a Clif bar for snack.
I did drink a fair amount of water and also took some BCAA’s so it shouldn’t be a setback.

(Maze map is funnny to look at)

    Sunday:
5.9 miles on an Air assault bike in 20 minutes, great low impact cardio and I am going to start incorporating sprints to help build my running endurance.
Ate pretty carb heavy, had some pizza for lunch and then a very late dinner of Cheezy bean and rice burrito from taco hell.
    36E30DB4-66AB-4C21-9CD7-5BF71C4FBE4F.jpg

Today: Did the same gym workout as last week, switched up the ab work to include Russian twists (with 15lb kettlebell), planks, flutter kicks, bicycle crunches, as well as the rope climb (sit-up with alternating arm reaches to simulate the action of climbing hand over hand up a rope).
But I did do it 5:49 faster than last time.
    Lunch: Salad with Grilled Chicken
Snack: ice cream shake (16 oz, cookies and cream) to celebrate passing one interview for the job I applied for.
    Dinner: TBD

Good work! Can't remember what your goal was, but all I've been seeing here is your updates and it's inspiring.

I've been consistent with myself over the last couple of weeks after taking a few weeks off after completing the Tough Mudder and hurting myself. I've now managed to maintain a weight between 156 and 160 for 6 months, and less than 170 now for 2+ years! I feel way better than when I was sitting in that 185+ range in at the end of 2015.

Thanks! I don’t really have a goal weight, I am going to go until I’m happy which will probably be somewhere around 200-210.

I started gaining back at the middle of last year, I Was working 3 jobs (2 fairly physical) so I was allowing myself to eat whatever, didn’t have any semblance of a schedule, and every Thursday night I would consume about 1500 calories in one meal because I had a group of buddies that ate together every Thursday night.
I was back up around 290 in June/July, Sept. 30th I was 288 because even though I was working out I wasn’t eating properly so I wasn’t losing any weight even though I was burning calories and gaining muscle, since Sept. I’ve really cleaned up my eating and started intermittent fasting (skipping breakfast most mornings unless I’m very hungry or am going to be running a chainsaw for any extended period of time).
As of this morning with a good dry weight I’m at 280.8, and I can tell I’m loosing more inches than the scale says. I’m 6’3” so I hide the weight well but most people guess I weigh 230-250.
The picture of me on the right is from early-mid ‘15, I was around 240-250 without a whole lot of muscle mass, to me I didn’t look that heavy.
The picture on the left was my around my heaviest at 320 from July ‘14.

And this was a few weeks ago (the only full length picture I have)

That’s awesome that you completed the tough mudder! Sucks about the injury though.
That’s awesome! It takes a lot of willpower and hard work to remain that consistent, props to you.
