    Updates!

Dropped it off this morning, talked to the service guy. Very friendly, knew exactly what was going on & didn't need the whole story reiterated. Said that first off Toyota wanted the techs to physically verify the seals were present. He basically said that was just a formality, then they were going to get on trying to figure out exactly what is happening.

Got a call later this afternoon, the truck is ready to go. They used some sealant on the housing itself (as best I could tell) but they had to replace the bulb. Then they went at it with the hose and couldn't get it to leak. No charge, obviously.

When I picked it up no techs were around so I couldn't get any specifics about where the sealant was applied or how they tried to get water to go in (like spraying from the back/ harness side) and I can't be assed to fuss around under there and look right now because it is COLD!!

Hopefully they finally got you all fixed up.

I crawled underneath and took a picture of what the dealer did:

Looks like they thought it was coming from around the base, not the wires. I'm gonna run the gauntlet (aka the touchless car wash:rofl:) in a little bit and we'll see.

At the very least we are working through the process of elimination here!

I can't believe that's a dealer level "fix". Throw some goop on it and call it good? They should have put some tape on there, too. Stellar service, there.

Like putting plugs inside of holes in the control arms?;)

It survived the first wash, we'll see what the future brings.

Really though this one has had me TOTALLY stumped. Not everyone has the leak. The housings have been used since Tundras in 2012. The harness is apparently the source, but something about the housing seal is letting it in. Nothing seems to make any sense.

It is going to take some time to prove itself, I'm not convinced it is over.

Well the acid test was the exact same wash that made it leak the last time. No intrusion this time around, as ugly and lame of a fix it looks.

At this point though I'm considering bumping my purchase of a plate bumper up above sliders... I have a friend who has been pestering me to buy my FN FNX Tactical .45 for a while now, maybe I'll work something out. :D

Sounds like two difficult decisions. I ordered my rear bumper before my sliders, but received and installed the sliders first.
And I have recently received everything to do your OEM Foglight mod! Now I just need to get outside and do it.
