Sorry no pics but the persons involved didn't want me to take them. I was out running errands when I saw an old Ford truck sitting at a stop sign with a dual axel trailer behind it and the flashers on. As I drove by I saw that the entire hitch was on the ground behind the truck. It had rusted so bad that it just let go. I asked the lady driving if she needed help and she said her son was going to get a jack to lift the trailer tongue then he planned to use the safety chains to lash it to the bumper and tow it to his house a few miles away. I looked at the bumper and it was held on with rust also and would probably have come off during the tow. So to save the rest of us from this guys bad plan I offered to tow their trailer to the son's house. I hauled the trailer to their house and backed it in the driveway for them. The mom thanked me but sonny boy was too busy talking to his buddy to even say thanks. I can only hope this guy doesn't tow again as he is a danger to everyone around him and just doesn't seem to care besides being an ungrateful ahole. At least I get to make a deposit in my good karma account.

    good job helping out.

sometimes i wish you had to have an endorsement for any type of towing at all. kinda like you do to ride a motorcycle. make you back the trailer up, take some sharp turns ect before you can tow anything.

Thanks and I really appreciate the good samaritan comments etc but I'm not looking for a pat on the back. I'm just hoping everybody who tows will go out and crawl under thier truck and take a look at the hitch. I did before I hooked up that trailer and plan to in the future before I tow anything. It was a real wakeup call for me. I agree that there should be some kind of certification before you're allowed to tow. Based on what I saw if there was just a hitch inspection requirement I'd feel alot safer. The scariest part is the mom told me that they had already made a 100 mile round trip with this rig and were about to make another run. This could have been a tragedy!

you won't get praise from me...

IMHO you have done a disservice to them...
and to those whom share that public road.

Doubt those morons learned a thing...
and will likely repeat their stupidity on another day.

    If it were me...
I would have called the police to respond...
as the driver should have received a citation
for their total disregard for the safe travel of others.
As well... the failure to maintain their equipment properly.

that police and government are the only solutions to the worlds problems. I would say liberal mindset, but the ban hammer might find itself headed my way.

a simple "hey jackass, probably wasn't the best idea" would of sufficed.

Oh, I didn't realize 40 million people in one state all thought exactly like that.

I would expect someone in Arizona would have just drive up and shot them in the face, especially if they appeared to be of Hispanic heritage.

But perhaps that is an unfair generalization.

Take it personally and get offended. That's one way of saying "I have a slit in between my legs with a deep hole filled with sand."
