    I went with a 17 F150 with the 5.0 to tow my 95 Tacoma.... no complaints. Having the trailer brake controller integrated with the truck's computer is a night and day difference over my old Tundra with a Prodigy brake controller. If you are only towing a few times a year, I would say get a gas truck. Also, get a weight distribution hitch... I won't tow a load over 5k without it.
