Well here's some jeeps on 37's doing a black trail at AOP without roll cages :notsure: don't try to make the trails sound harder than they are ;)

It's a jeep thing.. Jeeps at all the places I've been tear up the trails, Rev limiters, about rolling, etc.. Then I drive right up it like it's nothing..

Not so much for rollovers but XJs also stay together way better when caged. History has shown and it looks sweet which trumps everything.

Installed the Novak 4WD shifter and tcase today. Got the transmission mount mounted to the middle section of the cross member. Gonna have that all button up tomorrow. B36EC709-C638-43BA-B65A-7DCC11C3DEAB.jpg6905D49B-CB95-460A-96F0-EA07C30ED22D.jpg

A cage will hold the XJ body together for longer too...

I like having a cage quite a bit. Shit can go sideways in a hurry even on an easy trail or access road, especially when you throw some elevation change in the mix. You hear about people getting killed every year from rolling down the side of the mountain while they were on the service road back to camp because (insert part) failed after wheeling. Best things you can do to make sure you get home are a cage and make sure your belts are on ALL the time when you are moving.

The reason I posted what I did is because he said you need a cage to even think about doing any black trails. That video has jeeps doing black trails without cages at said park. Now given what line you choose changes everything anyways :notsure: Of course a cage is better than not having one, that’s obvious.

When I put the cage in the taco. It was a instant feeling of a few shots of liquid courage haha.

Gotta be dumb not to have a cage to do them. There are a few easy black trails at aop but I’d still recommend having a cage to do them. Just like @Snowy said they’re worth it in many ways.

I agree you don’t have to have one by any stretch. Never a bad idea though.

Watching friends flop in person will light a fire under your ass unlike most anything else.

-Last time Baxter (the dog) ever came with, fortunate that he was fine after some gear inside came loose too.

    78B69B40-2056-44B1-8015-2582C42730C3.jpg

-Fucked up the driver’s shoulder when he hit the passenger a-pillar. He fully admits to being a dumbass with no belt on.

-Honestly a super soft roll into a tree from a bad line. Fortunately both guys were belted in and fine. The 4Runner, not so much.
