Come up 26 and take 385 around G-ville and I usually come through downtown Pickens to get to 11.

Then just tell her that y'all have been packing all week and that if you can have a break on Sat then she can she can have a break Sun.

We will guide y'all through. No worries!

Simple enough directions for getting there. I’m fairly familiar with the Greenville area.

Holly Springs Store would probably be a good start and go from there.

IIRC it's 176 that leads to 11. Then we can stop at Holly Springs store on the right and rendezvous there.

I'm bringing a bunch of recovery gear. Probably a cooler with some drinks, chips and jerky.
Probably going to be rain. So boots and rain jacket.

It's in a temperate rain forest. I've never been there when there wasn't standing water. Be nice if the rain washes it out a little and makes it a bit more fun. They "improved" it recently, so the first half of the road was pretty tame last time I was there.

It's not a bad ride. Probably another 30 mins to get to Chestnut Mountain.

    Sweet.

I have no recovery gear (just my RR diff locker) but I can certainly bring food/snacks and such.

FYI I learned just now that they are working on repairing the bridge that crosses the river, so be careful around there.

Also learned that the recent "improvement" was a 2-year project, so once it starts to get rough again it should stay that way for a while. :woot:

2 hours to the river and back if you stop and BS there. Double that if you go to the border. I don't drive it fast, either. Hate to see them shut it down.
