Nah no competition...it's a Chevy. Theyre ugly, the resale is garbage, the interior is nasty and it's a Chevy.

    Oh, and it's a chevy

The basic platform and chassis for the tacoma makes it far more capable offroad. If they offer this at a competitive price maybe. A front locker is pretty awesome, although needed very rarely. Hopefully this pushes toyota to keep putting money into their trd pro line of vehicles.

Diesel option. I personally don't mind the looks of the Colorado and the interiors are nice. The Tacoma to me has always been very close to awesome but they lack things to really make it worth the asking price. I also find the TRDPRO to be a gimmick

The trd pro is a bit of a gimmick because you can mod your truck with similar spec for far less. However, the same can probably be said for this new chevy.

Toyota hasn't had any competition for a decade. People can make fun of Chebby all they want but if they get something dialed in correctly, Toyota will be playing runner up in the mid size truck world for the next few years.

Chevy's downfall is that it's beancounters always make cuts in places that they shouldn't. If they can keep from doing that, I wouldn't lay money against them putting Toyota on defense. It's not like Toyota has fixed some issues on their trucks that have been around for 2 decades now. [frames are one of them, 4wd actuator is another one for starters]

No better than the fox spec, on the tacoma, (fyi fox has a lot of experience with offroad suspension).

Meh... the Fox shocks on the Pro are gimmicky.

Multimatic has completely reengineered and innovated this suspension setup. Granted it hasn't been field proven, but it sounds like a step change compared to current offerings.

“Their aluminum bodies each house two spool valves providing both compression and rebound damping optimized for everyday driving. During extreme off-road use, a third, piston-mounted spool valve delivers additional, uniquely tuned, compression damping. The front dampers also employ a separate rebound valve, which comes into play when the suspension approaches full extension.”

I don't buy it. Just like the stock colorado it'll probably have more rake than a gardener on a rich guy's lawn and in reality you pay a lot in maintenance and reliability for that bump in torque and fuel economy with the diesel powerplant.

And just like the Pro, I'd rather pick and chose my suspension. Doesn't seem to offer anything more in OEM upgrades than other manufacturers--it'll still be beat by a stock, packaged Jeep rubicon.

But it is nice to see other manufactures trying to give Toyota competition.

Ferrari 458 is a gimmick too

I could have saved 180,000 and bought a 26k brz and stuffed a Ferrari motor
