Does anyone have any experience with plugging in chips designed to increase hp and gas mileage? I'm currently looking at something from autochipsdirect.com. Do these things actually work? Is there a trade-off or downside to doing this? What about reworking the air intake? Is this advisable with the chip. We have a yearly vehicle inspection - will this be a problem? We're talking 2007 Tacoma, 4cylinder.
    Thanks for the help!

They dont work. The URD MAF Calibrator can give WOT improvements, as does teh APR-X1, but those are the only 2 I know of.

Things like SuperChip, Bullydog, Banks, Edge, SCT, HP Tuners, or Cobb, are all for ECUs that can be re-written. Ours cannot be, for the most part. That is why ours have to use piggy-backs or better. URD also now has the UCON EMS. ProEFI, and AEM are others.
