Maybe he wants a design that is one piece? I'm sure the ARB is much sturdier, but depending on what you are doing, you will probably never use it that hard.

I also find that ARB is airbag rated which is reassuring. Been looking at the ARB weight online and have it seems to be about 80 lbs.

All bumpers are air back compliant just fyi. The Tacoma's air bag sensors are based on inertia. This was a huge topic months ago that was discussed, here's some reading if you would like. So whatever bumper you chose, buy with confidence your air bags will deploy. (Oh and the sensors are not located in the bumper).

That's all I'm going to say, I'm not trying to convince you of one or the other. Just want you to have all the information for an informed purchase :)

Good luck with your set up and take pics

Seeing the third gen section forced me to get a Ford...
i'd also go relentless fab front bumper over AP. has the same looks to it, but one piece and actually sturdy/beefy. in the future i'll either get a relentless fab bumper or pay someone to weld together my AP bumper into one piece. it'll still be weaker than the relentless, but sturdier than it is now.

I think I finally have my parts list sorted out for my 3" lift build that I will do this winter. I am curious to know what everyone thinks of the part and if there are any parts that I need that I forgot.

Icon 05-Up Tacoma Remote Reservoir Front Coil-over Shock Kit [5-8730]
Icon 05-Up Tacoma Rear Reservoir Shocks [5-7505]
Dever Springs Custom 3" Lift Leaf Pack
    Dever Springs U-Bolts
Total Chaos 05+ Toyota Tacoma U.C.A.[96504]
Toytec Front Diff drop kit [TAC-DR-05]
Toytec Zinc Axle Shims (3 Degree) 05 & UP Tacoma [TT-RS-846]

I might eventually add these parts to the suspension:

Total Chaos Stock Uniball Lower Control Arms with Dual Shock Capability [86500]
Total Chaos Dual 2.5” Shock Hoop System [86602]
    Icon Secondary Front Shock

    Parts in red:
I wouldn't bother with the diff drop, it's been proven it really doesn't do much of anything for your CV angle. Install the lift first then see if you really want to go for it. All it's going to do is drop the diff about 1/2 an inch, not really enough to make a difference.

Deavers are going to give you more flexability, but less payload capacity. If you still plan on using the back of your truck for hauling, I would think about the OME Dakars. Everything else looks like a really nice setup. The back end setup will just boil down to what you plan on useing your truck for. :)
