Just don't rush through it. Heres a good video I just found. Different application, but same exact process. Well, you'll have to remove the fog lenses, but otherwise the same. And notice how they don't start (or stop) the paint directly over the lens. This avoids hitting the lenses w/ heavy spots.
If you want a pre-wipe, I know you can get 3M prep sol clothes at your local pep boys or whatever.

I have the Billies and eibachs at .85 w/ .25 driver spacer, and I wasnt sure if I could run 285's. I think your build convinced me.

Youre confident this suspension is adequate for 285's?

I havent had any issues w/ the suspension/wheel combo. It does rub a little, like any other setup. You can limit the rubbing by trimming the usual areas.

I have to put a PSA in here about my wheels. I've given a lot of members the green light for fitment when asked about my wheels and fitment. Well, That information was only half correct. Read on.
One of the other northeast guys was interested in running the same wheel setup as me. Having had fitment issues with other wheels in the past, he asked if he would be able to test fit mine on his truck first. So we did and they fit like a charm. I told him to check my build page for the wheel specs. He did. He then received the wheels, only to find out that they hit the caliper....big time! WTF! We were both stumped. He was on the phone w/ Summit about it, we pulled up my old order # from summit, checked part #s, etc etc etc. It was some weird shit. Last step was to actually measure the backspacing. First we check his (since no tires mounted and rims were still in the box). 4.4", just as it should be. Pull my wheels off, and low and behold, 3.5/8"...NOT at all what I had ordered. Apparently I received the wrong wheels but got lucky b/c they fit, so I never had any reason to question the actual fitment. I was under the assumption that I had the larger backspacing and knew no better.

So that was a really long way of saying sorry if I put anyone else through some aggravation :(

Love the truck! There's an indigo at a local dealer here I want. It's lifted with dual exhaust and custom wheels/tires. All I know about the lift that it is a suspension Toytec lift. 2 1/2" in front and 2" in the rear. It looks nice and I want to get it.

Thanks! I bought the locks at home depot. Any place like that should carry them. They're for cabinets/drawers, etc.

The ones I have (3.5/8) stick out further. The 4.4" sit closer to the truck/brakes and as a result, do not clear the caliper. This would also result in them not sticking out as far from the truck.
Backspacing, offset and all that shit confuses me all the time too, don't feel bad lol

Wow I really like your truck! Those tires look awesome on there.

Would you mind posting a picture looking directly down the body line to show how far the tires stick out with the 3-5/8" backspacing on those wheels?
