Got my smoothbodies back from Downsouth. Shortened to 8.5 travel bodies and shafts, 90 degree hoses, and revalved to be run as a secondary. Now if I only had my truck to see how they work out.

You know I'm not entirely sure. Havent had a chance to make it up and see how its going. They are going to notch the frame so the airbumps can strike on the Ubolt plate, start the bedcage to mount the bypasses. Not sure what we are doing with the shackles yet I told him to decide. Might make a set of 10" but going to try the 12" first. Then we will test it before we proceed, so we dont wast to much time/ money in that direction if it wont work like I want.

Went to Lenger yesterday and put the secondary shocks on. Had to run my spidertrax spacers to clear. two trips out in the snow and the fox CO's are super oxidized, oh well we own this stuff to use it.

Thanks man. Rear should be done this week. Just hope I havent been wasting my time with this setup. I know it will do good on the trails but how will it be on the dunes? Imagine that the dunes open this weekend so I will know soon enough :D.

Pics Pics and more Pics. Im really intrested in your rear setup, with the bumps and shocks. Did you take apart the leaf pack and cycle the leafs for shock placement? Where did you mount the bumps?
Im trying to get together a rear setup similar with SAW 10" shocks and poly bumps. Just to get me by,since my front is long travel and do Rear LT in future.

But still very jealous of all the work you have done.

Thanks. I dont have pics of what is currently being done. The truck is an hour away so I probably wont have pics till next weekend.

The leaf pack was broken down when I originaly set everthing up with the 10" travel foxes and bumps. I wasn't happy with the ride quality but I felt the problem was shackle length. Tried a few length shackles and got it much better. But felt that I was limiting travel to much and decided to get more radical with the bypass setup we are working on now.

here is a pic of the bumps outside the frame and the shackle angle with a stock length 3.5" shackle. The tires rubbed the bump can alittle so that was my first motivation for a change.

Now the frame will be notched and it will be bumped of the center of the ubolt plate, or at least that is the plan.

Ok cool, looks great. I want to run my shocks the same way, poly bumps unless i find some air bumps super cheap, Im trying to figure out what shackle will cycle cleaner without lift.

to be honest a 6" shackle worked pretty well but still felt more would make for cleaner travel. Honestly a 9" through the frame probably be ideal, but I didn't want to sleeve my frame and then decide I didn't like it so that's why I am going over the frame.

Hmm, But would it give lift? Thats what im trying to figure out. Intresting that you say that, a member on here "MikesDoubleCab" was running a 9" shackle stock mounts on deavers with 12" shocks and he had great results.

Mike ran the 9" off the stock pivots giving him about 2.75 lift just from the shackles. But if you move the pivot to the middle of the frame you will minimize it. Thats why I figure a 10" shackle over the frame would probably be the best mix for performance and minimal lift.

Which travel Fox's bumps are they? Its a good deal if they are in decent shape.

I will know how the shackle over the frame works on J59's soon enough and ill let you know.

I would def pick them up if they are new. New from Downsouth would be about $350.
