Timelapse at LBL for the eclipse totality

 

Anyone looking to get out this weekend (F/S/Su)? My tent and air mattress should be here tomorrow... and the weather looks great.

Correction: My tent has been delayed until next Monday ... But I can go old skool and set a tent up on the ground I guess.

 

@mwc273 I would be going if it weren't overlapping OU's parents weekend. It's a bit of a family tradition since we have gone for the last 5 years. Before you start doing that math... we have two kids there in different grades.

 

Kick ass man, a private show!! If the truck were trail worthy I'd have rather been there.

 

Anything I do will be Saturday. Asked Sandy what she wanted and her vote was Gravelrama. I'd be more excited if it was Sunday. I was considering RRG.

Sunday is the day that makes it the Gravelrama.

In other news, if you guys are in the market for an axe, I just split some firewood for the first time with that Fiskars X27 and it is a beast.

 

Well damn, now that's a hard bargain!

 

For my first time to LBL, I have nothing but rave reviews and a few thousand bug bites. The trip was totally worth it and enjoyed how alone we were to witness the eclipse without a bunch of idiots. I can't thank Matt enough for the local intel on the field. It was a great trip.

 

How'd you like some of the 300 series roads?

 

So that's where all the bugs went. Seriously saw like 2 mosquitos the whole trip. It was great

 

You guys run many tough trails? The big Dodge do okay?

 

The few that we were on were passable without problems. I definitely need to look into a new leaf pack for the rear, my bump stops were close with all that weight. lol I think the saving grace was how dry it was, my stock tires might have had issues if it wasn't so dry. A rock hit the skids a couple of times without incident. Next time, I need to bring less stuff, but basically threw in a bunch of stuff at the last minute and called it a day. When we were packing up to leave, it was basically throw everything in the back and I'll figure it out later. Still have some cleaning up to do before the next one.

 

You coming to Rush?

 

I'd like to, but probably not. The following weekend I leave for a 3 week trip to explore the southeast. I'm sure with work and everything else, I'll need that weekend to button everything up.
