OK, I've had enough feedback I know it's a scam for sure. Thanks for confirming my suspicion. It's been reported. Yall may want to look on your CL and see if you can help anybody else from getting screwed.
I'm just wondering yall's input on this. Saw this ad:

    http://batonrouge.craigslist.org/pts/2165030398.html

    Emailed him this:

Is your truck still for sale? I saw the ad on Craigslist.

    This is the reply:

    Hello,
    Thank you for your interest in my Pickup truck.This is a 2000 Toyota Tacoma 4x4 SR5,Black,Gasoline,Interior color:Tan,4x4 manual,Anti-lock brake,Air conditioning,clean title,only 151,126 miles on it.
My truck is in perfect working condition, this detailed vehicle makes the exterior look like it just came off the assembly line. This is the second time when I try to sell my vehicle...First time I tried eBay because every time I only use 100% safe methods and I've sent the vehicle through the eBay Vehicle Purchase Protection Program to a buyer from Alaska. I paid the shipping and insurance costs and when eBay requested the payment he refused to pay. Why? ... because he agreed to purchase the Vehicle in the first place, but typically didn't had the necessary amount to do so. ...if you don't have the funds available, you can't get the vehicle. For the time being, my vehicle is on eBay's hand and it's ready to be delivered to the next buyer. So if you decide to buy this Pickup truck or need further information please get back to me as soon as possible. The final price is $2,800.00
Here is the link with the pics:

So if you decide to buy this truck or need further information please get back to me as soon as possible.

    Thanks,

If you checked nationally, you would likely find he's placed the ad in many different cities. If it seems too good to be true, and there's no physical address, no phone number, or shipping is involved, it's a scam. The fact that he publishes his email address is also a "scam" indicator.

    Hahahaha, no really.

That's a scam. Any mention of eBay buyer protection etc... or the seller deploying to Afghanistan or Iraq COMBINED with a low price is a scam!

I just bought my Tacoma and I was hunting on Craigslist, eBay, Autotrader, cars.com, and they all had lots of ads pop up that were scams just like that. I wasted 3 weeks, a lot of excitement, and missed 2 good trucks while screwing around with those scams.

Just look out for what I mentioned above and the old adage "if it's too good to be true, it is!"

***Also use the" report this posting" button on that site to get it removed before the scammer succeeds.

I just ran into a scam like this last weekend. It was an 03 D-cab SR5 with 110,000 miles for $2500. Guy said he was in Great Britain on his way being deployed to the Middle East and needed to make a quick sale and the truck was crated at a CA military base. He wanted my name and mailing address to setup the sale in ebay. The whole thing threw alarms for me. Number 1, ebay doesn't use your name and address. They would user your ebay userid. Number 2, I found the truck listed several different times in different areas.

It would be awesome to find a truck in that kind of shape for that price, but we all know better. I'd just hate to be the sucker that falls for the scam.

In mid-Missouri, I flag atleast four or five a day in STL/KC area. It is somewhat sad that the scammers would go so "ridiculous" with the prices and perhaps go with something a little more reasonable. Not trying to give them any ideas, but anytime you see on on CL for that cheap and the email address is either a "Gmail" or "MSN" or "AOL" acccount, 99.9% of the time they are SCAMMERS. Good luck in your hunt~
