I've got a '17 TRD OR 4x4 manual. When the bumps get rough, I hear a clanking noise from the front end. This has always happened, even with the stock suspension. Is this common/normal? Anything specific I should torque down?

How many miles? Has it done it since new?

Have you checked your front body mounts? They're known to fail quickly and make those kind of noises.

Looking in to possibly brake pads rattling. I read you can use disc brake quiet glue to silence the chatter.

I have the same and after various videos and posts, I conclude it's the disk pads and completely harmless.

I'm still unsure. Trying to get the dealer to figure it out still. A friend of mine thinks its the rack and pinion making noise.

Found this video on the forum somewhere to show the dealer. They pretty much told me that unless they can hear it from my truck they can't do anything.. But I can't make it do it on command so I'm sorta stuck in the middle at this point.

Yep, And it doesn't happen over every bump either so its hard to re create for the dealer.

I haven't really wheeled my truck and the first thing the dealer told me was because of the mud under my truck getting stuck in components. Jokes on them, I've never taken it in the mud. Its just dirt from Forest service roads..

I will apply the disc brake glue and report back if it helps!

I get this too from time to time backing out of my drive way. It doesn't happen all of the time and sometimes it lasts for a little while then goes away. I have upgraded my radiator mounts to poly ones and still does it but not as bad. I need ot get under there and retorque them though.

could it be the springs hitting each other when it compresses?

doesn't seem like it to me. I've had two different suspensions and the noise didn't change.
