Class IV Hitch on non towpackage equipped truck

As the title states, I am wondering if the factory tow package class IV hitch is able to be added to any Tacoma, or does some kind of a difference in frames prevent this from being possible? I am trying to add one to my prerunner 2.7L and want to make sure it fits. Im NOT trying to tow more than the legal rating (3500lbs), just like things relating to towing to be overbuilt. Any insight would be appreciated. From what I understand, the only difference is some brackets that connect to the sides of the frame..

 

You're good, bolt her up. But unless you're getting a deal it's a waste to buy the oem Toyota hitch. I put one on mine from Drawtite for $200 with the wiring harness.

 

I added the OEM receiver to my 2.7 Prerunner without issues. Paid $100 for it.
