I just want to toss this out there to hopefully help someone and save them some money. I have a 2016 Taco and it has 69k on it. I had been having a roughish idle when in Drive and just some weird vibrations here and there through the floor and gas pedal. I do all my own maintenance and knowingly sort of neglected to clean the MAF and throttle body for awhile.. little did I know the massive impact it would make. Why cleaning these isn't stressed as much as changing the damn oil, I don't know but I will be for sure adding it to my routine.

I finally decided to clean my throttle body, MAF, and do a fuel treatment. WOW! The truck idles smoother than when I bought it and the throttle response is so much better, granted it is still a stock tune, but I can pull civics again LOL. I was blown away by the 20 minute service and $25 worth of products. I had been chasing my idle vibration thinking it was the tranny mount or engine mounts when it was just some simple cheap maintenance. Anyways, hope this helps someone out there, I linked the products I used below.

12k on my 2018. I used Techron a few days ago on 10 gallons of gas and engine runs much smoother. Previous owner only drove 10k miles in 2 years so I’m sure there was a lot of stale gas being pushed thru the system.

lots of hard pulls with the additive and now it doesn’t shake at stop lights anymore. I also used gum out fuel injector cleaner(not as much PEA as a “full” system cleaner) on the tank before this so I’m sure that helped too.

Over time carbon and sludge both build up, even with Toyota's dual direct/port injection "fix." Injectors get clogged. The nature of burning fossil fuels and is unavoidable. A great many people are just simply not into vehicle maintenance.

    My regimen:
Sea Foam upper engine cleaner and MAF cleaner every 20k-ish.
Sea Foam motor treatment in a full tank and run to empty just before an oil change (which I do every 8000).
I throw in a Lucas ethanol fuel conditioner every now and again.
Still idles smoother than Michael McDonald's voice at 50k miles.

One doesn't have to use fancy fuels or oils, but implementing a good cleaning regimen (for literally anything with a motor that burns fossil fuel) will keep the engine running optimally.

My shit idles like a diesel! I've been chasing random rattles and sounds at idle with no luck.
I'm going to give this a go. I'm at 92k, and most of those miles were NOT very kind to the truck lol.
    Thanks - ordered!

I did nearly the same on my 2001 tundra. That truck ran very smooth even at nearly 300k miles. Sea foam is great stuff. I'd put it in the tank, and run it slowly through the intake via a vacuum hose to clean the valves. Engine would smoke like hell and foul the o2 sensors temporarily.
Keeping the maf clean helps also to get better fuel economy....just be sure its an electrical cleaner.
