Ok so Saturday had to get my dog put down, so my sister put the seats down in my 2014 4runner (cloth). Well he puked on the way to the vet and it got into the carpet on the back of the seat , and ran down the headrest also getting on the front of the back seat. I have been looking for a detail shop to shampoo the carpet and the seats , but having no luck so far. I put the auto carpet and seat cleaner on there and it still stained. The biggest problem is the smell though. I've been letting it sit out as much as I can for 3 days, but it's still there. Any ideas or advice would be greatly appreciated.

You're going to have to pull the covers off.

Might try one of the spray pet order/stain removers. Nature's Miracle, Woolite, Resolve, and Hoover all make OK products.

I use Nature's Miracle in the house and it works great on all sorts of pet stains. It eliminates odor too, but the stain has to be soaked and it can take awhile to dry.

I have nothing to offer on cleaning up - but as an animal lover my condolences on losing your dog.

If nothing works, try calling one of the steam carpet cleaning companies that leave annoying flyers every week. They usually have an upholstery attachment meant for sofas and chairs.

Get Wet Okole seat covers afterwards, in case your human passengers puke in the future.

^Recommend going to a professional company, which have vehicle-mounted units that are very powerful. That is, unless you had good luck with handheld rental units before.
