Can you guys recomend a clear door edge and under handle protective film and are they difficult to install? This places around Los Angeles want 90 bucks per door.

    TIA.

Is just a thin film that goes down and around the edge of the doors and under the handle. Like the one the trucks already come with near the wheel wells..

So not only did I find a guy that did all 4 door edges and cups for 100 bucks.. but he came to my place and did it here. I guess I'll be returning the edge film I had bought to try doing it myself. Already returned 2 different ones that I tried on the handle cups.

You'll be peeling them off in less than 5 years when they begin to get dirt and mildew under them.

I had a deal installed clear film install pretty much full coverage. It was on a highlander. It works. Even dents will dent but the paint is undamaged. I backed up my motorcycle multiple times into the side (tight parking sometimes squeezing out) and it did the side cases but the film just had the blue in it.

I came here considering doing it on my 4Runner now. Trail scratches are building up and it’s gonna be bad. I kinda already know the answer from experience but wanted to check tree branch resistance. I kinda just answered my own question. Thanks.

I’ll be doing 2 layers of clear film. Maybe 3. It will always look better than massive scratches down the side in any case.

I’ll test it with a hatchet to see how maybe layers of film is needed. Joking. Kinda.
