Clicking noise when front end dips down

Front shock mounts. Mine did it. Dealer said couldn't duplicate. I said f it and replaced them all with 5100's. Noise gone. Here's a video from someone else with the same. There are a few discussions about it in the forums.

Here's a discussion on it. You can see a toyota dealer resolution at post #64 saying front strut problem. It solved mine as well although I did it on my own.

By the way, my dealer had no interest in the videos I showed them if we couldn't make mine do it. I would have had to drive them 10 miles to the speed humps and I was already aggravated with their typical responses.

Also, if you want to solve any vibration issues when slowing down add the helwig 550 helper springs for around $50. I did it because I haul a KTM on my hitch but it also solved the vibrations Toyota is fixing with leaf spring replacements.

What exactly in the strut assembly failed...???

So here is what i found which i believe is the exact issue , take a rubber mallet and hit the cv joint cup on the side going into the front differential from the bottom ( leave the truck on the ground, do not jack it up) . You will hear that exact clicking sound . Im not sure there is a fix for this but i will be taking my axles out this weekend to inspect the shafts

Havent been following this thread like I should but have you checked your body mounts upfront befor you go through all thst work? If nkt may want to check replace those be much easier. (That is what was wrong with mine) I swore it was a front axle too but wasnt.
