Ok I'm new to this place. I have got an issue with my engine. It idles real rough. The engine is the 2TR-FE(2.7L VVT-I).
Here are the sounds from the intake side.
    Cyl#1...clicking
Cyl#2...thud (dead cyl or hard miss)
    Cyl#3...normal
    Cyl#4...dieseling

    Sounds from the exhaust side.
    Cyl#1...normal
    Cyl#2... stumbles every few seconds
    Cyl#3...normal
    Cyl#4...slight dieseling

If I had to guess I would say timing issue(VVT-I sytem acting up). Either the cam adjuster or maybe something else. Whatever it may be its purely mechanical no codes, no lights, just lots of vibration from the engine ONLY at idle.
Anyone who can shed a little light on the problem please help.

Plugs were changed at 30K, cables and distributer box original still.

I can't help but think is timing. ALL 4 CYL have spark but they just sound off.
Getting a shop to check it out it will be warenty covered.

I hope so, then again if it is its coming out of my pocket.

Where on the engine might I find the distributer box?
